Mr Karti P Chidambaram, MP, Sivaganga along with Karaikudi MLA, Mr Mangudi visited the Khadi Village industry commission in Kandanur to see the works being carried out for the reopening of the institute on October 2nd, 2021 on account of Gandhi Jayanthi. The land to the said industry (26.16 Acres) was donated by Former Union Finance Minister, Mr P Chidambaram and the industry was not functioning for the last 10 years. Mr Karti Chidambaram made a request to the Hon’ble CM of Tamil Nadu and Minister for Textiles and Handloom Mr R Gandhi for reopening of the same. Mr Karti Chidambaram’s request has been accepted by the TN Government and works have been started for reopening of the unit.
